Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a pan and add garlic. Cook for about 30 seconds.
Transfer the mixture into a bowl. Add the remaining 1/3 cup butter and mix well.To this add salt and parsley and keep aside.
Slice the baguette into 1/2 inch pieces. You will get approximately 26 pieces. Brush the butter on both the sides.
Arrange the slices in a 9*9 inch square baking pan or any pan you have handy.
1. To make ahead of time: Wrap the pan with plastic foil and store it in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 days. When you are ready to eat, remove the plastic foil, wrap with aluminum foil and bake as per the directions.
2. To freeze: Arrange the slices in a freezer-safe container and cover with an airtight lid. Let it thaw on the counter for 30 minutes or overnight in the refrigerator before you bake.
3. Leftovers: Leftovers can be reheated in microwave directly or in an oven by wrapping in aluminum foil
Make sure the freshly baked bread is cooled down for 10 minutes before serving. This will help to set the cheeses and also cool down the cheese a bit so that it is not extremely hot.
When you are serving this at a get-together or at a kid's party, transfer the garlic bread to another serving plate since the pan could be very hot and burn anyone easily.
